We are delighted to announce that Foraged & Sown was awarded a Farmer/Rancher grant from the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) to study saffron production in the Midwest! Stay tuned for more details about this project throughout the year.

Remember the announcement about Preserving Wild Flavors & Nordic Traditions, our USDA Value-Added Producer project? The one that includes a trip to Finland and Norway? The time to pack our bags is here! Next week, we will leave hot and humid Ohio for 25 days in Scandinavia!!
Our itinerary includes:
-Exploring Arctic Warriors, a Finnish herb farm
-Experiencing Helskini Fest, Helsinki's largest cultural festival
-Finnish Your Dinner, a night of dinner for Finnish pride
-Visiting Fiskars Village, a creative community
-Riding an overnight train
-Visiting Bodo, Norway and Rachel's cousin
-Taking the CatTrek kids to Tankavaara Gold Village
-Seeing the Northern Lights? (Rachel can dream....)
